The classic fairytale of Dick Whittington is this year’s Winton Community Academy’s pantomime tonight (Wednesday 10th December), tomorrow and Friday.
It’s about a boy who travels to London to seek his fortune. He has been told the streets are paved with gold but he arrives penniless and without a friend in the world.
“We had lots of students auditioning this year,” said Head of performing arts Amanda Morgan. “It’s very exciting casting each character and seeing the students get involved.”
As well as budding actors there are lots of roles behind the scenes too. The stage management team are a vital part of the performance looking after the set, lighting, sound and costumes.
“It’s a big team effort,” said Amanda. “Everyone works really hard to make sure we put on a fantastic panto and we are really excited that it’s all happening this week.”
Dick Whittington will be on at Winton Community Academy on Dec 10th, 11th and 12th at 7.30pm.
