Andover Police have issued a warning about a possible rogue trader scam after a suspicious incident on Wednesday (19th August).
A resident was entering his house when a male left the passenger side of a small car sized van and approached the him. The man told the resident he was from the company that paved the residents drive 18 months previously and he had come to check it.
He took the resident around the drive pointing out very minor defects and the resident explained he did not wish for work to be completed at which point the man left.
The intentions of the man are not known, however it is possible that unnecessary work could have been completed and charged for.
The resident checked with the original company who has assured that they do not cold call and this was not one of their employees.
Police also asked residents to please also bear in mind any neighbors that appear to have sudden or unsolicited work performed on their property that may be suspicious.
