Andover’s successful pop-up shop initiative has moved premises, and has now popped up at 91 High Street with a fabric and materials shop.
The first business to occupy the new pop-up shop is the Magnificent Material Company, which opened its doors today (Tuesday 1 April) and will be displaying a sumptuous array of silks, linens, cottons and chintzes until Sunday 13 April.

The owners of the company said: “The pop-up shop provides a valuable opportunity to gain a foothold in the High Street environment and widen our customer base. “
“We have been successfully established just down the A303 in Wylye for a number of years, but may not be so well known in Andover. The Magnificent Material Company specialises in seconds, ends of lines and discontinued fabrics. “
“We also stock first quality fabric at competitive prices, many of which are sourced from top designers.”
Leader of the Council, Councillor Ian Carr, said: “The Council has a waiting list of small, independent businesses keen to gain retail experience in the town. The challenge for us has been to find landlords and premises that are equally keen to support the initiative. ”
“I am delighted that the original pop up at 4, Bridge Street has been such a success, and that we have now found new premises in town to keep the scheme flourishing.”
Lonefairy Jewellery will continue to sparkle at 4, Bridge Street until Saturday 5th April.
