Police are appealing for information following an assault that took place in Roman Road, Andover on Tuesday 6th May.
Shortly after 3.45pm a 15-year-old boy was cycling along Roman Way when he stopped at a footpath near to the bus stop at the junction of Roman Way and Smannell Road. He was nudged from behind by an unknown offender and pushed forcefully which caused him to fall to the ground on top of his bike. He sustained a deep cut to his right knee which required hospital treatment.
The offender was described as white, approximately 15-years-old, just under 6ft tall and of a medium build. He had light coloured hair which was short on the sided and longer on top. He was wearing a purple polo shirt, light blue denim jeans and dark blue Nike trainers.
PC Tom Bailey from the Northern Investigation Team said:” This was an unprovoked attack on a fifteen-year-old victim who was on his way to his local shop. The assault has caused a serious injury which is likely to leave a permanent scar.”
“It is likely that there would have been people in the area at the time who might have witnessed the assault or who might have seen the offender in the area either before or after the assault took place.”
