Police are appealing for information after a fatal road traffic collision on the A303 eastbound near Popham services that happened at around 12.30am on Saturday 23rd May.
A pedestrian is believed to have been struck by multiple vehicles. The man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are in the process of notifying next of kin to allow for formal identification procedures to take place.
Sergeant Andy Gwyer said: “We are appealing to anyone who was travelling eastbound on the A303 near Popham services around the time of the incident. We need to establish the exact circumstances and identify any further vehicles involved.”
“One driver has come forward. We have spoken with several drivers at the scene, but we know there are still vehicles unaccounted for. Anyone who may have been involved or witnessed the incident is asked to come forward.”
