Phones 4U – the mobile phone retailer with a store on Andover High Street – has fallen into administration and said that all its stores would be closed today (Monday 15th September).
The BBC website reported that “Phones 4U said it had only received EE’s decision late on Friday, and as a result all its employees would report to work as normal on Monday.”
According to The Telegraph “staff will be briefed by management in stores and at head office on Monday morning” adding it is “intended that employees will continue to be paid until further notice.”
The decision came after EE decided not to renew its contract with the company, mirroring Vodafone’s earlier this month and O2’s back in February.
The group has a total of 550 stores and employs almost 6,000 people.
