With some help from former Andover Sound’s Ben Tuffin, Castledown Radio has taken a new approach and will be offering affordable advertising packages to local businesses.
Newly appointed Commercial Director Ben has years of experience in the local advertising market from working for the Andover Advertiser, Andover Sound and then The Breeze.
“I am delighted we are able to give local businesses the opportunity to advertise on local radio in a cost effective way” he said.
“I love radio and I love helping local businesses. Radio is a fantastic way to advertise your business and now with us you can at a very affordable price.”
Castledown Radio is located in the grounds of The Wellington Academy which is situated between the towns of Tidworth and Ludgershall and is a fully-licensed Ofcom Community Radio station. It can be accessed either by tuning into the 104.7 FM radio frequency or via the internet.
Initially set up in 2005 as part of the Integration of Communities Project and funded by the EU and Defra, FM broadcasting began in November 2006 after a successful period of online broadcasting.
The station is at the very heart of the Tidworth and Ludgershall Community Area and gives local people, bands, groups and organisations an opportunity to promote themselves and have their voices heard within the community.
Castledown Radio are very proud of their stations history and the continued work they do in the community that there will be a limited amount of advertising packages available.
“This is to ensure that the station doesn’t become too commercial and our identity is lost” Ben explained.
“The revenue we receive from this will be put back into the station on things like volunteer training, community projects and marketing material to further promote the station.”
“Castledown Radio will still be happy to promote local events on air and they are actively at events providing quality PA with their roadshow crew so get contact them for your next event.”
“Our area where we broadcast has a large volume of forces personnel and would present any future advertisers with us a great opportunity to promote to this audience. We can create your advert professionally too, just like the adverts you hear on commercial radio stations.”
