Test Valley Borough Council will be observing the nationwide one minute silence on Friday at 12 noon, in memory of those killed in the Tunisia attacks.
Speaking to the House of Commons on Monday, the Prime Minister announced the planned silence, which will take place one week after the attack.
Leader of Test Valley Borough Council, Councillor Ian Carr, said: “It’s important that we observe the silence for all those killed and injured as well as all their loved ones at this incredibly difficult time. We will mark the start and end of the silence in the offices with the sounding of the fire alarms.”
It is also hoped that the bells will toll at noon at St Mary’s Church in Andover and Romsey Abbey.
