Merlin’s Kingdom, the children’s indoor play centre at Andover Leisure Centre, has had a £45,000 makeover to become an even better place to play, particularly for the under 5s.
As part of the refit, the soft play equipment and the café seating area has been refreshed and modernised.
There is a new facility for toddlers and babies, new games for older children and new see-through Perspex equipment, including a skywalk, so parents can see more of their children at play.
“Merlin’s Kingdom is a great place to get children active, no matter what the weather is doing. The new additions are designed to make the play centre even better for children and more enjoyable for parents too,” said Linda Arnold, sport and activity development manager at the leisure centre for Valley Leisure.
‘’The revamp has created a new toddler play zone, with a new mini climbing wall and slides, including one especially for babies. And we’ve introduced a new £1 term time deal for under 5s so that it gets used all of the time.’’
Other changes include a new sky walk and giant roller balls for older children and a set of activity panels with new ‘make it rain’, ‘match the pairs’ and ‘stepping stones’ games for under 5s.
New tables and chairs and flooring have made the whole environment much brighter and more welcoming too.
Merlin’s Kingdom is open from 10am to 6pm every day of the week. There is also a special £1 play deal for under 5s, Monday to Friday from 10am to 2.30pm in term time.
