Andover’s successful pop-up shop will play host to a new tenant from Sunday 16 March, when Lonefairy Jewellery takes over the store for three weeks.
From cupcakes to photography, credit advice to cosmetics and now kitchen appliances to silvercraft, the pop-up shop continues to tempt shoppers to a range of goods, whilst helping businesses graduate from home offices and small units into a high street environment.
Lonefairy Jewellery is set to fill the shop with a variety of unique jewellery, crafted in materials including silver, gemstones, wire and polymer clay. The jewellery will be displayed on furniture provided by My Fab Find of Andover, and complemented by a range of unusual clothes, bags and accessories sourced from other talented craftspeople.
After building her business travelling around art and vintage markets across the South of England; trading at Andover’s Saturday market, and selling on e-Bay, Michelle Newton, owner of Lonefairy Jewellery said: “The pop-up shop is an ideal way of finding out if a permanent alternative jewellery/design shop will work in Andover.”
“It is safe to say that anyone visiting my shop will find things that they have never seen before. I will be making jewellery at my table in the shop window and people are welcome to come in and browse, ask questions and be inspired! I offer a restringing and repair service as well as producing bespoke commissions. “
“I like the idea of building a shop that could ultimately offer its patrons the opportunity to walk in and have anything they want designed and made for them – be it a dress, a piece of jewellery or even a bespoke piece of furniture. “
“There are lots of people out there that deserve to be on our high streets with the amazing items that they make. The pop-up shop provides a vital opportunity for genuine artisan craftspeople, like me, to showcase their talents to a wider audience.”
Leader of the Council, Councillor Ian Carr said: “The pop-up shop initiative has gone from strength to strength and has allowed a wide range of small businesses to experience what it is like to trade in a high street environment. It has also enriched the retail experience on offer to shoppers visiting our town, and is a real success story for all involved, and a key initiative taken forward as part of the Andover Summit. “
Lonefairy Jewellery will fill the pop-up shop with sparkle and excitement from Sunday 16 March for three weeks.
