Test Valley Borough Council begin the town’s official countdown to the Christmas with the annual Christmas Lights Switch-on event in Andover’s High Street at 5pm on Friday 21 November.
By this time the BIG TV will once again have manoeuvred carefully into place in front of the Guildhall so that young and old can enjoy a great view of the evening planned entertainment on the main stage.
Taking the role of presenters this year will be Tony and Steph from The Breeze, who will be introducing the evening programme of performances from local artists and choirs including:
- The Long Overdue Theatre
- Chasing Daisies
- Portway Glee Club
- John Hanson Community Choir
- Dance Fit
- Gray Smith & Claire-Marie Conlin
- Steph Boulton
- Chris Bernsten
And of course, not forgetting the one and only Father Christmas.
At 7.30pm the countdown will take place culminating in the big switch on of the town’s Christmas Lights, provided by Andover Town Council, followed swiftly by the Chantry Centre Firework Display.
Organisers Test Valley Borough Council are grateful to new stage sponsors Basepoint Andover.
With rides for the children plus festive attractions and some great food outlets including roast chestnuts, hog roast and bratwurst the evening will kick start the festive season in style.
Make a date in your diary – Friday 21 November, 5pm to 7.30pm Andover High Street.
