Kit Malthouse, the MP for North West Hampshire, visited Be Wiser Insurance in Andover this week to see for himself its thriving apprenticeship programme.
The MP met apprentices from Be Wiser’s future talent programme and from across its other apprenticeship training schemes.
The 250 apprentices within the company range from school or college leavers to University Graduates. All apprentices are studying for either their Certificate or Diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).
“It was great to visit Be Wiser and meet some of their apprentices and staff and to see how their successful apprenticeship programme works. It’s fantastic to see an Andover based company offering local young people a great start to their careers,” said Kit Malthouse.
With an extra three million apprentices being promised by the Government within the duration of parliament Be Wiser is playing its part by contributing to the national agenda.
“We were very proud to show Kit Malthouse what we have achieved here in Andover through our award winning apprenticeships programme,” said Kelly Scanlan Apprenticeship manager.
“It was great that he was able to meet some of our apprentices and hand out awards and certificates. I know it meant a lot to them. All our apprentices work very hard and the success we have had so far with our apprenticeship programme is down to the work they put in every day.”
Just last month Be Wiser was awarded the Newcomer Large Employer of the Year Award at the South East Regional Apprenticeship Awards. This automatically places them in the National Apprenticeship Awards final in January.
