Comedian Jason Manford believes there’s nothing like watching live comedy in small intimate venues, which is one of the reasons why the TV funny man and quiz show regular launched his nationwide comedy club nights earlier this year.
Manford’s Comedy Club returns to The Lights on Sunday 14 June, with established comedians David Trent, Tom Houghton, Paul Tonkinson, and MC for the night Barry Castagnola.
Confused by the fact that people will happily go to their local pub for a drink, out for a meal and visit the cinema, yet are reluctant to go and watch comedians in their local town, Jason decided to launch a series of comedy nights for established comedians who might not have the same level of TV profile as the likes of Sarah Millican or Mickey Flanagan.
Manford said: “A comedy circuit comedian is just as funny as someone you may see on TV and that’s what I’m trying to make people aware of. When you have a line-up of four or five comedians, there’s always going to be something for everyone.”
Manford hopes his comedy nights will give local audiences an evening of belly laughs’.
Tickets are £10, and with each comedian performing for 20-25 minutes, it is brilliant value for money.
