Parliamentary, borough and parish elections are scheduled for Thursday, 7 May 2015 and Test Valley Borough Council (TVBC) is calling on residents to make sure that they are registered to vote.
Last summer the way we register to vote changed from household registration to individual registration. This means that each person is now individually responsible for ensuring that they are on the electoral register.
In Test Valley more than 98 per cent of registered electors have been successfully transferred onto the new register, but a small number of people still need to have their registration verified.
TVBC will be writing to each of the 51,000 households in the borough by the end of this month giving a summary of who is registered in each household. Residents are encouraged to look out for this letter and check to make sure that all the details are correct. If they are then no further action is required.
If some of the information is wrong residents will need to follow the instructions in the letter and respond to the Electoral Registration team at the Council by Friday, 27 February 2015.
