Footy4Girls, the female Youth section of Andover New Street, took to the aisles straight from the pitch on Saturday recently to help pack bags for the lucky shoppers at Andover Tesco Extra.
Expertly hosted and welcomed by store Community Champion Sheryl Scott-Clarke, the girls worked their socks off both packing bags and promoting themselves in the most positive of ways, even finding the time to carry a large TV to one customer’s car!
The girls were rather nervous to start but, after some wise and inspiring words from Sheryl, their day went without a problem.
Footy4girls new Under 10 and Under 12 players along with the experienced Under 13 really showed the Andover public what a great group of kind and courteous young people they are and the customers at Tesco returned their favours to the tune of £612 plus 2 Euros and 50 cents – well, every little helps!
A spokesperson for Footy4Girls said “Everybody involved had a great day, extended thanks must go to Sheryl for her huge support not just on the day but for making this all happen with such ease.”
“The money raised will be used to kit the girls out with much needed additional playing kit and rain suits for the cold Saturday mornings that await.”
Footy4Girls welcomes girls interested in playing football in the Andover area. People interested can email email@example.com.
