The Environment Agency have issued an update to earlier flood alerts for villages in the Bourne Valley area at 11.05am on Wednesday 12th March.
Communities at risk of groundwater flooding in Vernham Deane, Upton and the Bourne Valley in North Hampshire including Hurstbourne Tarrant and St Mary Bourne.
Groundwater levels in the Bourne Valley remain high but have now stabilised and are starting to fall. The weather forecast this week is for dry conditions and levels will continue to fall slowly to reflect this.
More unsettled weather is forecast next week although rainfall totals are not expected to be large in the South.
There are still extensive flooding problems throughout the Bourne Valley with groundwater affecting properties, roads and the sewage network. These issues will persist for many weeks.
