The 10th shop project, Encounters Andover opened its doors on the 14th May 2014. Open to all, the pop up shop at 91 High Street will be welcoming everyone until the 15th June.
The Encounters Shop is a space for dialogue and exchange where an evolving collection of memories, stories, experiences, ideas and dreams about Andover past present and future will grow.
Andover will be the 10th Encounters shop set up with other shops all over the UK including in Liverpool, Sheffield and London.
Generating a rich snapshot of objects, text and photos the project will inform a programme of public art developments around the town and will feed into the work that Andover Town Centre Summit has been doing to improve the shape of the future town.
Encounters have employed five local artists to set up and work on the project alongside Encounters Arts.
Visitors will be welcomed to the shop and encourage participation through a range of activities relating to Andover. As part of the project there will be a series of one-off events devised by local artists.
Invitations to join in can be found throughout the town.
The shop is open Wednesday to Saturday from 10.00am to 6.00pm and on Sunday Market Days.
