The battle for the North West Hampshire seat in the General Election in May is now down to 4 parties as Diane James has announced her withdrawal.
UKIP’s Mrs James said she has withdrawn for “purely personal reasons” leaving it between the Conservatives, Liberal Democrats, Labour and the Green Party.
At present, there is no news from UKIP as to who, if anyone, is to replace Mrs James.
UKIP were second favourites to win the 77,000 constituent seat at 12/1* although still some way behind the Conservatives at 1/33*, who have held the seat since its creation for the 1983 general election. The other parties were given at 100/1.*
