Residents on Pilgrims Way and River Way have expressed concern over the time it has taken Hampshire County Council to remove the fallen tree from River Way.
According to the Highways department at Hampshire County Council. it was only reported as an issue to them at 10.54am this morning (Monday 17th February).
However, a resident has told us that two female PCs said they had reported the tree on Friday and based on this they did not report it themselves. On checking with the Highways department this morning there was apparently no record of it being reported.
The tree was brought down in the storm on Friday 14th February and shortly afterwards various posts appeared on Facebook and it was reported on the Pilgrims & River Way website.
With roadworks due to continue today and road closures planned, residents thought the tree would have been removed to allow diversions to be setup.
