Test Valley’s Anti-Litter Campaigner Manuela Wahnon is backing the national “Clean for the Queen” campaign running from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th March.
Launched last Wednesday in the south of the borough, Manuela’s unique way of raising awareness is to fill ninety small carrier bags of litter by the start of the event and is well on her way of achieving the target with 24 bags done already.
Manuela has approached local businesses for help with Andover’s Waitrose supplying with bags.
“I would also like to thank Scope and Poundworld for their support too” she said.
The Andover Town Tidy Day will take place on that weekend too.
Manuela said “Filling one of those small carrier bags with discarded litter is easy to do. I’m hoping others will be inspired to do similarly, so we can show the rest of the country that we in Andover are already contributing to the bigger picture ahead of the day.”
