Andover Bus Station Update from TVBC
As part of the bus station works, the contractor, Osborne is about to commence works to water-proof to level 2a of the multi-storey car park – the northern side (this is prevent damp and water entering the newly formed accommodation below).
These works will be commencing Monday 24th March and will take 2 weeks to complete. During this time, ONLY half of level 2a will be available for car parking.
Signage will be in place to warn drivers of the works and direct them to alternative spaces.
The bus station continues to progress. Much of glazing is now completed, giving the building definition a contemporary shape and feel. The café is looking impressive and with the ply roof completed, works have begun internally to supply power and drainage. A potential tenant has been identified to occupy the café when complete.
In the offices of Stagecoach and Shopmobility the internal spaces are being fitted out. Carpentry works are underway and the second fix of electrical and mechanical infrastructure is in progress.
The works to upgrade the walkway between the Chantry Centre and the multi-storey car park will commence this week; terrazzo flooring tiles will be laid over a concrete base to match the existing shopping centre. The walkway will remain open during throughout the majority of the works, with the contractor taking advantage of one of the agreed closure periods near the end of works.
