Be Wiser Insurance celebrated the official opening of its new Andover headquarters, Wiser House – the new home to one of the UK’s largest privately owned insurance brokers.
The official ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by Sir George Young, MP for North West Hampshire, the Mayor of Test Valley Jan Lovell and Be Wiser Chairman and CEO Mark Bower-Dyke.
The Andover-based broker already occupies five offices in the town centre and the new building will provide Be Wiser with vital additional office space to accommodate its continued planned expansion.
The new 8,500 sq ft headquarters will be home to approximately 250 Be Wiser staff working in the customer services, insurer and partner relations, technical underwriting, business solutions and auditing departments.
Be Wiser’s Mark Bower-Dyke said “We are delighted to move into our new headquarters. Over a relatively short period of time we have become one of the largest personal lines insurance brokers in the UK and this move marks another milestone in Be Wiser’s growth and signifies the next phase in our continued development.”
Mark said ongoing investment in staff, products and services have been key to the company’s success.
He said, “The growth of Be Wiser is down to our professionally qualified employees and directors, we invest heavily in all of our staff to ensure that they provide excellent service which results in customer satisfaction and returning business.”
Speaking at the opening, Sir George Young MP said, “It has been a pleasure to officially open the new Be Wiser headquarters and to meet the staff and employers here. Be Wiser is a great local success story, providing 579 jobs in Andover and I am delighted the company has demonstrated long term commitment to the town with the new offices.”
With 579 staff, the broker manages more than 175,000 policies and has received several accolades since its launch in 2007. It ranks in the Top Ten Personal Lines brokers in the UK with three consecutive year’s entries in the Sunday Times Fastest Growing companies and has also appeared in the Sunday Times Fastest Profit Growth companies listing.
Be Wiser recently reported pre-tax profits of £2.2 million and a 20 per cent increase in turnover.
