The new urban sports facility at Smannell Road in Andover is open for use.
The final construction equipment was removed on Friday (24 October), allowing access to the facility which has been designed for skateboards, BMXs and scooters.
The official opening will take place on Saturday 15 November with a skate jam organised by developer, Maverick. Mayor of Test Valley, Councillor Jan Lovell, will perform the ribbon cutting duties.
Leader of Test Valley Borough Council, Councillor Ian Carr, said: “I am delighted the urban sports facility is now open. It has long been my ambition to deliver a concrete skate park for the town and it is fantastic that this has finally come to fruition.”
“Although people use the facility at their own risk, I would urge everyone to look after the facility and take care to protect themselves and other users. When using the skate park please make sure you wear the appropriate protective clothing and helmets and look out for other users to make sure you aren’t doing anything that might cause an accident.”
“The facility has been incredibly well used so far and I look forward to the official opening in November.”
