The Andover Foodbank has been busy collecting food at Waitrose Andover.
A team of volunteers received donations from customers on Friday 31st and Saturday 1st June and a total of 555.26 kg was donated together with cash of £214.03.
This two day collection followed a successful day at Waitrose on 27 April when 389.32kg of food and £132.89 cash was donated. The foodbank are very grateful for the support given by all the Partners and customers at Waitrose Andover.
The Andover Foodbank has managed to meet a 22% increase in demand for its services to the end of April and is concerned that figure will continue to rise as the effects of the Welfare Reform Act hit the Test Valley in the second half of the year. Without donations from the public the foodbank would not be able to support this demand and those in crisis.
