Her Worshipful the Mayor of Test Valley Cllr Jan Lovell met with Manuela Wahnon earlier today (Tuesday 8th July) after the local campaigner was presented with her Points of Light Award from Sir George Young on behalf of the Prime Minister on 23rd June.
Manuela was the 48th person to be awarded by Prime Minster, David Cameron and this was given in recognition of her campaigning work in and around Andover.
The campaigner heard the news whilst giving one of her inspirational talks to the children of Norman Gate School as she regularly speaks at schools across the county to help encourage young people to develop an “Attitude of Gratitude”.
Manuela said “It’s only now that it really is sinking in what this award means. I am particularly thrilled for all the children and teenagers that I have had the honour to address. Just seeing the town of Andover on that National Role of Honour, gives me such a buzz.”
Praising Manuela’s work in the community, Mayor Jan Lovell said “This is recognition by Test Valley of all you’ve done. We are very grateful of the work you do promoting the Rights, Respect and Responsibilities (RRR) within schools and are a good advocate via your Attitude of Gratitude campaign.”
Manuela’s next school talk will be at Vigo Infants School this Friday (11th July) where she will be addressing 208 children.
